Die cut gaskets are used to form and maintain seals between parts, around hatches and openings, and on pumps and valves. They also dampen vibration, block liquid ingress, and reduce metal-on-metal wear and tear in equipment.
Custom Gasket Manufacturing is a trusted supplier of high-quality, custom die cut gaskets for many different industries and applications. We work with a variety of materials and cutting methods to create seals that meet even the most challenging operating conditions reliably. Types of Die Cut Gaskets
We use multiple cutting methods to create custom gaskets to customer specifications, including:
- Kiss Die Cutting.
- Rotary Die Cutting.
- Steel Rule Die Cutting.
We take pride in consistently producing accurate die cut gaskets and can accommodate a range of project types and sizes from prototypes and short runs to high-volume production. Our products are guaranteed to function perfectly, meeting or exceeding the expectations of our valued customers.
Custom Gasket Manufacturing consistently provides competitive pricing, exceptional customer service, and on-time delivery of the following types of high-quality custom die cut gaskets:
Closed Cell Sponge Rubber Gaskets
These gaskets are used to prevent passage of fluids in many applications including automotive engine and other components, HVAC equipment, and appliances. Soft, medium, and hard densities are available with optional pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backings.
Compressed Non-Asbestos Gaskets
Combining fiberglass or other non-asbestos fibers with rubber provides better pressure and temperature performance. A gasket manufactured from non-asbestos materials has exceptional performance in applications involving exposure to water, air, oils, steam, chemicals, and acids, and exhibits:
- Excellent Sealing Capabilities.
- Enhanced Torque Retention.
- Superior Heat Resistance.
Cork and Rubber Gaskets
Cork, which has high flexibility and compressibility, and rubber (e.g., neoprene, nitrile) can be combined to make a gasket material that is resistant to most solvents, oils, and fuels. These gaskets are used in many consumer, commercial, and industrial applications.
Custom Non-Metallic Washers
At Custom Gasket Manufacturing, we can use a variety of operations to manufacture custom non-metallic washers, depending on the size, materials, and other details of the application. Capabilities include:
Our custom washers can be manufactured from ¼ in. to 36 in., in accordance with Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) tolerances.
Custom Plastic Gaskets
Plastic is a versatile gasket material that can be die cut into various shapes and sizes, so it is well-suited to many applications. Plastics are polymers with a high molecular mass, and are usually combined with other substances to enhance their properties, such as compression set, hardness, and flexibility.
EMI / RFI Shielding Gaskets
EMI/RFI shielding protects electronic components from nearby high-frequency signals that can disrupt signal transmission or result in incomplete transmission. Shielding is also used to prevent devices from emitting EMI to surrounding devices and circuits. We use a variety of materials for reliable EMI shielding solutions.
Electrical Enclosure Gaskets and Seals
Electrical enclosures, boxes, and cabinets protect wires, connectors, and switches from moisture, dust, dirt, and tampering. Gaskets are positioned inside plastic or metal enclosure boxes, doors, covers, and cabinets to create a sealed barrier between the contents and the outside. Our high-quality gaskets and seals are suited for both indoor and outdoor electronic sealing applications.
Electrical Insulators
Electrical insulators are made from nonconductive materials and are used to prevent transfer of electricity, arcs, and short circuits within electrical systems or between metal parts.
Felt Gaskets
Felt is made from matted wool, a versatile material with low compression set that can be used to cushion objects and seal out lubricants, dust, and contaminants. Felt can be easily die cut into various shapes and sizes and is available in a diverse range of colors, styles, thicknesses, and densities.
Fiber Gaskets
The following types of premium fiber-based materials can be used to fabricate precision die cut fiber gaskets, washers, and seals:
- Cellulose Fiber.
- Cellulose Fiber Blended with Rubber Binders.
- Fish Paper.
- Insulating Fiber.
- Synthetic Fiber.
- Vegetable Fiber.
- Vulcanized Fiber.
Custom die cut fiber gaskets can be cut to specific dimensions and shapes within close tolerances and other application requirements.
Flange Gaskets
Flange gaskets create a tight seal between flanges and tanks, pipes, and other connections. Custom Gasket Manufacturing maintains tooling from ½ in. to 48 in. in diameter for cutting flange gaskets from pressure-rated materials (i.e., 150#, 300#, and 600#) for full-face or ring flange gaskets.
Flexible Graphite Gaskets and Seals
Graphite seals are available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses and can be cut from sheet and roll material. This material is resistant to high temperatures, corrosive chemicals, and high pressures, and conducts heat well. We manufacture flexible graphite gaskets from:
- Pure graphite sheet.
- Graphite sheet reinforced with a tang core.
- Laminated graphite sheet reinforced with a stainless steel insert.
Foam Gaskets
Custom Gasket Manufacturing provides custom waterjet cut gaskets and die cut gaskets made with open and closed cell foam materials, including dense barrier and slow recovery foams.
High Temperature Gaskets and Seals
We offer several gasket materials that are suitable for high operating temperatures from 350°F (177°C) to 2300°F (1260ºC). These gaskets and seals provide highly reliable seals and are designed to perform well in applications involving:
- Combustible Fluids.
- Elevated Temperatures.
- Exhaust.
- Flame.
Kapton® Gaskets
Kapton is a polyimide film that is suitable for use in high- and low-temperature applications. This material does not burn and carries the highest UL-94 rating of V-0. It is rated for 428°F to 464°F for continuous service, and intermittent at 752°F. It can also be used at temperatures down to -452°F. It is available in thicknesses from 0.0003 in. to 0.005 in.
PTFE Gaskets
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), commonly known as TEFLON®, is a synthetic tetrafluoroethylene or fluoropolymer that consists entirely of fluorine and carbon. PTFE gaskets repel water and water-containing substances and are generally non-stick, with an extremely low coefficient of friction.
Silicone Sponge Gaskets
Silicone sponge gaskets are made from aerospace to commercial grade materials that resist degradation from weather, ozone, and UV radiation. They have high tensile strength and tear resistance, so they are significantly more durable than silicone foams. These materials are commonly used for:
- Environmental Cushioning and Gaskets.
- Press Relief Pads.
- Thermal Shielding.
- Vibration Mounts.
