Custom Foam Gaskets & Seals

Custom Gasket Mfg. provides custom foam products using polyurethane foam materials. Polyurethane foam is an open cell flexible foam material. It is economical, easy to cut, and ideal for applications such as; cushioning, dust and moisture sealing, thermal and acoustic insulation. Polyurethane foam ranges in density from 1.5# density to 8# in both polyether and polyester formulations. It is UL94-recognized and available in anti-static and fire retardant forms. Polyurethane foam’s standard color is charcoal gray however it is available in custom colors upon request. We can also apply pressure sensitive adhesive backing and/or other special coatings, such as fabrics, foils and linings.

Custom Gasket Mfg. provides custom foam products using Poron^® microcellular foam materials. PORON^®microcellular urethane foam is an excellent material choice for thermal and acoustic insulation, sealing, gaskets, vibration and sound dampening and energy absorption. Poron^® foams have excellent compression set resistance and high resilience, providing a gasket seal that won’t break down over extended use making these high-performance foams ideal for applications in communications, automotive, electronic, and other industrial devices. The material is easy to fabricate, die cut and accepts a broad range of adhesives. Poron^® foams are conformable and flexible even under extreme environmental conditions. Poron^® is low out-gassing and flame retardant material (UL-Listed). It exhibits good chemical resistance, is a natural flame retardant and is non-fogging, containing no plasticizers or residual chemicals to contaminate the device. The material will not become brittle and crumble and is also non-corrosive to metal. It is available in a wide range of formulas and thicknesses from 0.012″ to 0.500″. It performs well over broad range of temperatures from -40°F (-40°C) to 194°F (90°C). All Poron^® foam is available with or without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing.

Custom Gasket Mfg. provides custom foam products using cross-linked polyethylene foam materials. Cross-linked polyethylene is closed cell polyethylene foam that has been chemically cross-linked. It combines a smooth aesthetic feel with superior physical and chemical properties including good mechanical and thermal insulation, excellent chemical resistance, and low water absorption. It is available in densities ranging from 2# through 6#. It is available in anti-static, conductive, and fire retardant formulations. Cross-linked polyethylene is available in standard white and black colors and is also available in custom colors upon request.

Custom Gasket Mfg. provides foam products using Volara^® cross-linked polyethylene foam materials. Volara^® is a versatile, dependable solution for a host of demanding applications. It is fine-celled, irradiation cross-linked foam that offers cosmetic appeal and an exceptional range of performance characteristics. It has excellent thermal insulation and chemical resistance properties, a smooth surface, excellent consistency, gauge control, high temperature resistance, low water absorption and vapor transmission. The AFR and MF grades of Volara^® are fire-retardant, while the A and EO grades meet FDA regulations regarding food applications. It is nontoxic and contains no CFC, HCFC, or hydrocarbon blowing agents.

• Thickness Range: from .010″ to .420″ in roll form and from .050″ to 2.00″ in laminated rolls and sheets
• Density Range: from 2 to 20 pcf
• Firmness Range: soft to semi-rigid
• Colors: standard colors are white, black, charcoal, ocean blue and natural (and custom colors are available upon request)

Typical Volara^® Applications:

Silicone foam is manufactured from a low viscosity liquid silicone which is cast on a smooth liner and cured through inline ovens. Silicone foam can be supplied as an open cell, closed cell or combination of both, open and closed cell material. Silicone foam is lighter in density, has better flame resistance (UL-94VO) and a lower compression set than silicone sponge. Silicone foam applications include outdoor sealing enclosures, protecting electronics from shock and heat, providing protection against vibration, protecting and sealing communications and electronic equipment and lighting enclosures. All materials can be supplied with high temp acrylic adhesive and in custom die cut configurations.

Silicone Foam is available in four grades of compressibility, including:

• HT-800 (medium grade)
• HT-820 (firm grade)
• HT-840 (extra-firm grade)
• HT-870 (soft grade)

Custom Gasket Mfg. provides custom foam products using Ensolite^® foam materials. Ensolite^® foam closed cell sponge is versatile. It has a temperature range between -40°F to 180°F. Most Ensolite^® foam materials have a flame rating of UL94V0 and UL94HF-1. Ensolite^® tends to have a lower density than most closed cell sponge products and better water absorption properties than other closed cell foams. The Ensolite^® product line offers a broad range of products based on PVC/NBR, PVC/NBR/CR and CR for applications in various industrial markets.

Custom Gasket Mfg. provides foam products using convoluted (egg-crate) packaging foam materials. Since this foam is cut similar to an egg crate there is just as much foam as there is air which allows for lighter compression exerting less force on your part. Custom Gasket Mfg. can custom die cut convoluted packaging foam into any size, shape and dimension to accommodate your specific application. On numerous occasions convoluted foam is ordered in specific sizes for the lids of cases or to outfit the entire case itself.
